Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.

Using a soft touch, practitioners sense and help the body release restrictions in the soft tissues supporting the central nervous system

CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical concerns associated with pain and dysfunction.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral manipulation is a gentle manual treatment approach that addresses tension in the soft tissue connections within and around our organs.

The visceral system relies on the interconnected synchronicity between the motions of all the organs and structures of the body. At optimal health, this harmonious relationship remains stable despite the body's endless varieties of motion but when one organ cannot move in harmony with its viscera, it works against the body's other organs and structures throughout which in turn creates fixed, abnormal points of tension that the body is forced to move around.

That chronic irritation paves the way for postural distortion, neuromuscular dysfunction, and disease processes.

Neural Manipulation

Neural Manipulation identifies and releases local nerve restrictions while at the same time examining the effect these local fixations have on the rest of the body, and by accessing this relationship, resolves the more comprehensive (global) dysfunctional patterns.

It provides assessment and treatment approaches to address restrictions of the dural and neural components not commonly focused on with musculoskeletal symptoms.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is another way to work with the fascial system. Myo stands for muscle, and fascia is the continuous connective tissue surrounding our muscles, bones, nerves, circulatory system, and organs. It involves applying gentle sustained pressure onto muscular-fascial tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

This is also a manual therapy approach that is known to be safe, gentle, and effective in treating the entire mind/body complex to eliminate the pressure that causes symptoms.

Exercise Training and Prescription

In order to continue the healing process and maintain the benefits of the realignment that you feel from our session together, it is often important to incorporate specific exercises.

Safe and effective exercise training and prescription require careful consideration of the health status, baseline fitness, goals, and preferences of each of my clients. Some techniques I commonly employ include yoga, stretching and flexibility training, strengthening, and Feldenkrais.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics can be roughly defined as the study of people in their working environment. From a practical perspective, Iā€™m happy to help you design a workplace or put habits into place to eliminate work-related discomfort and risk of injury

Wellness

Manual therapy can be used to calm the mind, body, and spirit. Touch is a healing modality and when used thoughtfully and with intention, it can help restore a sense of embodiment.
