With over two decades working as a physical therapist, and more than fifteen years of training in different holistic manual therapy and osteopathic approaches, my practice unites these two paths to form an integrative experience.

Hi, Iā€™m Maryann Herklotz, PT, rCST. I began my career as a physical therapist in 2000, working first in an acute care/trauma hospital. Within my first year of work, I decided to focus my work in the oncology setting. I started in 2001 at Memorial Sloan Kettering, a cancer center in NYC, where I practiced for over 20 years.

Early on in my career I looked to pursue a more integrative way to practice, hoping to support the healing process of my patients in the most whole experience possible. I wanted to better understand my patients and help them achieve a sense of overall balance and wellness, while promoting their healing and preventing other health concerns. I then began what was to become an endless journey of training in different osteopathic approaches, including visceral manipulation and craniosacral therapy. Through these manual therapeutic approaches, usually geared toward working with the fascia, and in understanding how interconnected our body systems are, it becomes more and more clear why the most effective treatment must include addressing the body as a whole. I am always treating beyond where symptoms exist, letting the body guide me along the session.

I have had amazing teachers along the way, advancing through the classes, and am fortunate to take classes with the developers of these skills. I am always continuing my training in this work. to take my practice to a deeper level of understanding and healing.  The effectiveness of the work is tremendous. I am passionate about each of these treatment paths and the learning never stops.

I work with clients of all ages, from infants to older adults. While I have years of experience in the field of oncology, addressing cancer-related conditions, my experience extends well into other areas. For example, concerns my clients and I work with include but are not limited to: TMJ, migraines/headaches, concussion/post concussion concerns, spine conditions, bowel/digestive concerns, postural or motion limitations, repetitive stress conditions, sports injuries, neuropathic pain, generalized pain, neurodegenerative conditions, anxiety, fatigue, and chronic depletion.
